CAMPING WITH LURCHERS

Recommended Posts

hi everyone

due to shortage of work - many thanks to the big credit crunch  i fancy getting away from everything and go camping with me daughter and three dogs!

i love the way how before going to sleep you arrange dogs at the bottom of tent and the HUMANS in sleeping bag and on mats all warm and cosy . . . by morning your pinned :wallbash: against the side of tent soaked through with rain water  and the lurchers are star shaped spread on your bed!! :whistling: saying this is very nice :boogie:

but for some mad reason i fancy doing it all again!!

i'm looking for somewhere with good walks, easily able to get to from public transport, dog friendly, don't need extras as i can rough it for a couple of days :icon_redface: but looking for somewhere pleasent where me and me family can have a wonder and some quiet time

i live in suffolk, happy to travel though not too far as unfair on dogs . .

thanks for spending the time to read

all the very best lurcher lass x x x

If you fancy the lakes keswick is great. I know a great campsite that dosen't charge for dogs, is within walking distance from dog friendly pub + mountainous terrain an woodland, is cheap and has hot showers. PM me if interested an i'll get all the details and directions to ya.

Edited to say the showers are free :boogie:

Here you go.... http://www.pinewoods.co.uk/ , North Norfolk so distance shouldn't be problem, the web site dosent do the place justice, a cracking little campsite, loads of places to get out with the dogs, very short walk to the beach, nice little stroll into Wells for the pubs, shops and fresh sea food!

I really rate the place, ...and i'm booked on there ( though not in a tent) next boxing day, till after the new year.. :D

Hope thats some help..

May be a bit too far but you could do a lot worse than the Dove Valley in Derbyshire. Train to Ashbourne, coach to the valley. Walk through to Mill dale. about 3 miles, good footpath. There's a camp site in the village or you can walk up the hill where there's a site on a farm. Basic as it gets, just a standpipe, but you can use the village loo. Good pub, farm shop, great walking country. Thor's cave is worth the trip on its own. My terriers loved it to bits. Are your dogs safe round sheep? You might want to take long leads with you.

Aahhhhh yes the lake district, some of britains finest walks.

Ive just recently been to Burns farm, camping site, dont know how much it costs cos my lass paid, but it was great. Showers and a laundry if you needed them, dogs allowed and really nice owners. Just a couple of miles outside of keswick and about half a mile off the A66. Deffo going back there soon. :clapper:

Small world eh?

I was at the stone circle and there was someone there with lurcher type dogs,i was going to go over and speak to them but i had to do the taking the photos bit for the girlfriend and her mother, then we headed off to 'saint johns in the vale'. Going back over that way weekend of the 15th. Staying in a caravan this time though at a different place. Heres some pics just for the atmosphere :clapper:

The circle can be bloody scarey in winter. I went up at Christmas a few years back, went to the circle. Cloud closed in, started to snow. It felt really weird. Found myself watching out for a Druid with a BFO axe!
